Fairplay, Colorado

Come for the mountains. Stay for everything else.

Timber Valley Lodge is tucked into eight private acres of Colorado pine forest — the rare chance to feel completely immersed in the mountains without giving up beautiful interiors, comfortable beds, modern amenities or easy access to Breckenridge.

This isn't simply a basecamp. Some of the best parts of the trip happen without ever leaving the property: a treasure hunt through the trees, moose at the edge of the driveway, records playing while dinner cooks, a fire outside once the stars come out.

Signature experience

There's More Hiding in the Woods.

A custom treasure hunt winds through the forest, past the tree swing and the hammock, toward treehouses tucked into the pines. Clues lead from one corner of the property to the next.

It's the part guests talk about months later — the afternoon nobody checked their phone, and the kids came back muddy, triumphant and already asking when they can come again.
