Timber Valley Lodge

Good to know

Policies & property information

Written so you arrive prepared for an authentic high-country stay.

Elevation

The lodge sits at approximately 10,600 feet. Altitude can cause headaches, fatigue or shortness of breath, especially for the first 24–48 hours. Take it slowly, drink extra water and consider whether high elevation is appropriate for your whole group. Refunds are not issued for altitude-related illness.

Winter driving

AWD or 4WD with snow-rated or winter tires is required November through May. Roads are maintained, but snowpack and ice are normal. Refunds are not provided for weather-related travel issues.

Weather

Mountain weather changes rapidly and can be severe. Snow is possible from September through June, and winter driving demands AWD/4WD with appropriate tires. We do not issue refunds for weather-related travel delays, road conditions or altitude sickness — please plan ahead and consider travel insurance.

Travel insurance

Because mountain weather and high altitude are unpredictable, we strongly recommend travel insurance for trips between November and May or for guests who may be sensitive to elevation. Refunds are not issued for weather, road conditions or altitude sickness.

Cell service

Limited in the neighborhood until you connect to the lodge's Starlink WiFi.

Wildlife

This is an unfenced mountain property with active wildlife. Keep a respectful distance.

Water

The property is served by a private well.

Septic

Please follow septic-safe practices during your stay.

Smoking

No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.

Outdoor fires

No ember-producing fires. The propane fire pit is provided for evenings outside.

ATVs & firearms

Not permitted on the property.
